Welcome to Better Systems & Operations, THE newsletter for micro-businesses who are ready to run their business without it running them into the ground. When I have something worth sharing, you'll get practical tips on systems for tiny teams, operations that actually make sense, and keeping your business in its place. Because your real life is the center of the universe, not your business.

Hey {{first_name}},

My family and I are settling in quite nicely in Kentucky. It’s almost like we never left. All of the uneasiness we’ve felt the last two years being in a place that wasn’t our home is gone and even though there are still some things that need worked out, it’s feeling quite peaceful at last.

This week I’m working on a presentation for a summit on AI that I’m presenting at about how I disclose my AI usage with my audience. For the past several months, I’ve been adding AI disclaimers to my website and digital downloads/products. I’ll be sharing all about that, so be on the lookout for promotions about that soon!

If you haven’t seen the disclosure on my website, you can find it here. I will be adding the link to the bottom of my emails when I get everything fully moved to Beehiiv (hopefully later this week!).

Thank you SO SO SO SO SO SO much to those of you who responded to my first Beehiiv email last week. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. If I haven’t sent you a personal thank you reply yet, please know that it is coming!

The rest of this email will be super quick today since I’m still learning how to set up my template in Beehiiv and it’s not quite there yet.

She also happens to be in the top 1% of Squarespace forum members, which means if your site is built on Squarespace (hi, same), she knows that platform inside and out.

Note to Add: I’ve seen some of the websites she’s created and they are exceptional.

Next, something I’ve been quietly building…

On July 10th at 12pm ET, I'm teaching a workshop called, Your First SOP, Done.

Okay, I don’t want to be “that guy,” the one who says, “but I’m different!” because we’ve all been to a shitty workshop where it’s really just a person who is going on and on and on about how great they are, their testimonials (are they even real?), and before you know it the workshop is over and they are pitching you and you have no idea what you were supposed to learn anymore and you learned nothing. Meanwhile, the people who drank the Kool-Aid are writing in the chat how helpful it was and you’re wondering if you all live in the same universe.

Yeah. It’s not that type of workshop. I’m not even sure it should be called a workshop. Maybe a group get-it-done together session + Q&A, but that doesn’t sound as good on a LinkedIn post, so whatever. We’re stuck with it until I come up with something better.

Anyway, during this “workshop,” I will spend like 3ish minutes introducing myself, if that, and then I’m going to create an SOP for my business with you right there in the room (webinar? call?).

Just like I did when I was modeling a new task to my students when I was a teacher, I’m going to tell you aloud my entire thought process as I create an SOP for my business, that I actually plan to use and will be using when we are done.

I’m not making something up for this day to impress you, but rather to actually freaking help you understand what it takes to write an SOP and guide you through the process so you aren’t stuck on how to do it anymore. (Truthfully, if you’ve ever met me, you know I’m awkward af and I’ll probably do something super embarrassing or say something stupid during this webinar, but that’s cool because that’s just me.)

I’ll be using my template from my free lead magnet, The Missing Link. If you already have it, awesome! If not, it’s no big deal because I’ll give you the link to the template the day of so you can create your own SOP.

It will be a 90-minute call with about 10 minutes of prep before we get started, 50 minutes of guided working (me talking and showing you what to do and you taking action afterward) and about 30 minutes of Q&A at the end where you can ask me about your SOP and anything you’re still unsure about.

You'll want to come with a specific process in mind. It doesn't have to be complicated, just something in your business that lives in your head and needs to be written down.

Anyone who shows up live will leave with a completed SOP, their SOP questions answered, and get the first chance to access my new SOP library template starter pack (which obvs doesn’t have a finished name yet…) at the one-time-only launch price that I haven’t set yet, but it’s going to be at least 50% off the price after my launch period.

It will normally be $47, but for anyone on my email list who joins, you can get it for $32 if you use the code 1STSOPEMAIL.

Because you’re on my email list, I’m giving you the opportunity to register before anyone else. Make sure to use the code for the discount!

Code: 1STSOPEMAIL

More details soon, but wanted you to be the first to know about it.

Sammy Bohannon

P.S. The call will be recorded, but I’m not sure yet if this will be something I give out to anyone afterward. I’m inclined to send a replay, but I’m not positive yet and I’m brainstorming with some friends about this. I’ll keep you updated.

P.P.S. If you know someone who would benefit from this, I’d really appreciate it if you gave them a different code. I will still give a discount to them because you are referring them, but I really want my subscribers to have benefits that non-subscribers do not have, as a thank you. If you want to share this link with someone, give them the code 1STSOPREFERRAL so I know they were referred. They will still get a $10 discount, but not the $15 discount I’m giving you and other subscribers to my newsletter.
