Hey Reader,

When it comes to running your own business, there are ALWAYS going to be days where it is tough.

It’s not always rainbows and sunshine, and there will be moments when those storm clouds roll in.

The last few months, I have been seriously struggling to work on my business. I have been so focused on working on client work that I have ignored the actual business building part. I've had a lot going on in my personal life and it has made me put business building on the back burner. People have started wondering if I'm even taking new clients (which I am!). It can be so tough to do the things that need done when you're in the thick of things.

But it’s SO important to remember on those days that your business is still serving you and your business is worth it.

I know for my clients, when they experience these days, there are certain things I recommend to help. And today? I am sharing those things with you.

  1. Keep your head up. There are seasons in your business and there will be ups and downs. If today happens to be a down, just remember that this will pass.

  2. Make a list of all the ways your business has served you. Kind of like an exercise in gratitude. This will help you see that even though this is a tough time, your business is serving you and worth your time.

  3. Make a list of ways you can work on your business. Break that list down into actionable things you can do to improve your business. Break those things down even further into things you can do in 15-20 minute increments. You may not have time to spend an hour on your business, but surely you can find 15 minutes.

  4. Reflect on everyone you have helped as a business owner. For some, this may mean making a list of everyone you've worked with. For others (I'm thinking digital product makers here), this may mean reflecting on the ways you help people and the deliverables you provide.

  5. Remember not to be too hard on yourself. We all go through these ups and downs in business. It's perfectly normal. Being hard on yourself will only make it worse.

Next time this happens to you, come back to this list and see if these help. And if you are experiencing this or have extra hints and tips to share, flick me back an email. I would love to hear from you.
